I really resonate with trying so hard to stretch to build community as unmasking makes it difficult and overstimulating to be around a lot of people!! I’m also trying to find the balance of that myself. I also still take COVID precautions as it is a disabling virus and it’s difficult to find folks who are still taking precautions as well.
I agree with the point you make. I think it's sexist to trivialize the community building, housework, etc. that women do so often. Certainly not all men, but many won't even pick up after themselves. Hats off to those who do.
Regarding third spaces, I think they're really important, and I'd like to share one of my posts with you where third spaces are part of a building. Not sure if my post mentions this, but there would be a ramp to the second storey. I'd like a space like this to be accessible to all people. https://ideasbigandwild.substack.com/p/a-new-dream-of-home?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2

This essay is a deep breath that speaks to everything I’ve already known and am so happy to see affirmed so beautifully in your writing. Thank you.
